Opened in 1992 as a gift shop, Houston St. Mercantile has evolved into one of the most versatile quilt shops in the Metroplex area. With over 4,000 bolts, we offer a wide selection of flannels and woven brushed cottons, batiks, and all major companies' finest quality quilting cottons. (Moda, Hoffman, Kaufman, RJR, Maywood, Timeless Treasures, In the Beginning, Thimbleberries, Michael Miller, and others.)

We are open seven days a week to assist you with your quilting and sewing needs. While you are here you can shop for special gifts or enjoy our famous chocolate maltballs.

Our staff members are all quilters, knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help you with your projects. We offer professional long arm machine quilting for the public.  Please call for prices and instructions if you wish to mail a quilt to us.

We offer classes, specialty bees, and original patterns found only at Houston St. Mercantile. We are opening our web site as just another way to welcome you to our quilter's paradise.
